the staff are vey friendly
the area is very accessible to public transport.
very clean.
I was treated well as a patient and I'm happy.
The Whittington is a great hospital. Lovely building and great staff and great treatment.
I wish general staff such as receptionists have better training receiving people with good people skills. Especially the manner of speaking was very abrupt.
people skills are very important part of in any work, at any place as it represent not only the work place but the person him or herself in the eye of others.
I have been treated at the Whittington EPU 3 times over the last week - I have been struck by how helpful the staff have been at all times; nurses and sonographers, and despite working in sahara like conditions (one fan for the entire unit!) during a heatwave they are calm and professional. The service and staff are a credit to the NHS and have been incredibly supportive during a very difficult time.
I have used the Endocrinology, Imaging and Ambulatory Care departments. All of them are efficient, clean and doing the'r best within the limits of the NHS
My partner had surgery here - for the first and last time. Pre-op care very good. Post-op care leaves a lot to be desired. Admitted 7 am, had op at 8.30 am then took almost until midnight to find him a bed for the night in between being moved from recovery ward onto two others. I was not allowed to see him post-op which made me concerned about his care and welfare. The doctor wanted to discharge him before he was in a fit state, his being in great pain and discomfort and not being able to urinate naturally. He had to insist on a further night in hospital before being sent home - still far too early in my estimation. We ended up in our local hospital A&E Department the same evening as he was discharged because of post-op difficulties. Follow-up by phone to hospital in the following week was of no reassurance. The public restaurant was of a higher standard of cleanliness to that of Coyle Ward and its toilets. To be honest, the place needs a good manager, better organisation and a much higher standard of patient care.
I gave birth here in the midwife led birthing centre. It was a wonderful experience. The midwives were really excellent - far better than I expected. They were so respectful and supported me fully. I would recommend the birthing centre to anyone who is eligible to give birth there. The facilities are also excellent -- ensuite bathroom and your partner can stay with you the first night in a double bed. Luxury!!
Excellent Staff, All very polite and helpful. High quality professionals and humanitarians - the only minor negative point was that I had to wait a lot (40mins) to get my prescription. That said, the ladies working in the pharmacy were explaining everything and helping every patient to get clear instructions.
Thank you.
The care I received as a day patient was excellent. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that when I went in for an ECG test (my procedure involved a general anaesthetic) the woman who did it asked me what medication I was taking. When I told her antidepressants she expressed surprise and said that probably all I needed was a small slap. Not the sort of comment that a health professional should be making. I did not make a formal complaint but I hope that she might one day read this and remember and learn.
